I was looking at my old Stampin' Up holiday stamps and came across the 2005 "Sleigh Full of Toys" which I hadn't use FOREVER. This sketch challenge was perfect!
The sleigh was stamped with black Stazon ink so it wouldn't bleed when I started doing the water coloring. I selected bright holiday colors and using my Aqua Painter started out by doing two gift packages of each color, but with varying opacity. After the colors had dried, I went back and used two different SU Dazzling Details glitter to dress up the packages and add sparkle to the sleigh stars. Then went back and liberally applied Wink of Stella to the sleigh and ribbons on just about every gift package. Of course the shine doesn't show up in the photo of the card, but believe me - it does in person!!!
Finally, I used my SU stamp positioner to place the sentiment at the bottom. I found some gold ribbon from a candy gift box I had received, which was perfect to tie a "package bow" and attach to the top left corner of the main panel before gluing it to the card base.
Because I wanted to emphasize the holiday nature of the card, the front panel was cut to 3.75" wide to allow the red card base to show on both sides of the card front.
