This is for Lisa's WT challenge which you will find HERE; we are marking Hans Christian Andersen's birthday by using images suitable for fairy tales.
It's also for Susie's Tickle a Teapotter challenge - this is my Fantasyland card and gives me a full house...I've never made that many cards for a TPT challenge before!!
Mermaid - sentiment from Art Neko, Unity Mystical Mermaid stamped on watercolour paper and coloured with inktense pencils. Lots of Spectrum Noir glitter for sparkle. Sea is Twinkling H2Os. Background is gelatos and baby wipes with a Pink Cat Studio seaweed stamp.
I tore the edges of the image panel, stitched round a couple of times with no thread in the sewing machine and then added lots of Stickles - it's popped up on foam and finished with sequins. The shells are all cut from bits of a failed wrinkle-free distress panel. Yes, it can fail when cheapo card is too absorbent!!
I was named after a mermaid (of sorts) - Sabrina, the goddess of the River Severn, the longest river in the UK. So it's surprising that in all my years of stamping this is only the second mermaid stamp I have ever bought!
John Milton wrote about her... Sabrina fair,
Listen where thou art sitting
Under the glassy, cool, translucent wave,
In twisted braids of lilies knitting
The loose train of thy amber-dropping hair...

I love the tid bits we learn of our crafty friends. Super story learning you were named after a mermaid and I am surprised you have only every bought two mermaid stamps. This one is a fantastic stamp, I just got mine yesterday and can't wait to use her. Now when I ink her up and use her I am always going to think of you. Love how you colored her and the faux stitching too. Beautifully done Sabrina.

Lovely image and marvelous coloring and embellishments. This is definitely a magical card, Sabrina. Love hearing of your naming. Milton's verse is a treat to read!

Ohhhh I have tears in my eyes, I just read Lisa's comments and feel exactly the same way. I have had this mermaid on my wish list for a while now, as soon as I finish commenting I am going to click the BUY button. Sabrina this is so beautiful and a perfect combination of both challenges. Thank you for the detailed description and a reminder of what I haven't used in quite a while LOL.

How cool you were named after a mermaid, Sabrina. Your card is just magic and fits perfectly with John Milton's writing.

Jaw-drop gorgeous! Love the sparkle, the colors and the image. The song "Under the Sea" from The Little Mermaid has come to mind. Marvelous card for both challenges. TFS

oh my goodness. Sabrina! I couldn't wait to be able to see this 'BIG'...the Challenge thumbnail was just a tempting treat. She's beautiful. Love the scene you set with the shells, bubbles (sequins), 'stitching', sparkle, and especially the 'sand'. This is just wonderful.
