When I saw the green, I knew I wanted to pull out my retired 1998 "Very Veggie" Stampin' Up! set. The artichoke just screamed to be used. I was inspired by Australian SU demonstrator, Carolina Evan's blog at: https://goo.gl/TcP92C.
Of course when you think of artichokes you think of parties, so I made the theme to be an invitation.
The card base is SU Garden Green cardstock, and the matting is Rich Razzleberry. The main panel is Whisper White.
I first stamped three brushstrokes from "Sheltering Tree" in the three challenge colors near the bottom of the panel (I stamped-off the green once on a scrap piece of paper since it is so dark). Then to create the artichoke, I stamped onto a scrap piece of light green cardstock (no idea what color it is) with Garden Green ink. I then re-inked my stamp with Versamark and stamped exactly on top of the green image. This was then covered with clear embossing powder and heat set to make it glossy (which further accentuated the dark green from the light green cardstock). I then hand cut the artichoke.
The artichoke was mounted over the brushstrokes using adhesive foam strips to raise it above the card surface.
The sentiment was from the retired 2005 SU set "Sincere Salutations". I stamped it with Rich Razzleberry ink onto Whisper White cardstock, and cut it out with SU's "Layering Ovals Framelits Dies" using a plain oval. The mat was diecut from Rose Red cardstock using the scalloped oval from the same Framelits set. The two were glued together, then mounted on the upper right of the card front using adhesive foam strips.
Once I had my inspiration, the card came together really quickly!
