My best friend works at his husband's farm in Connecticut and he makes the ice cream that they sell at the ice cream stand. If you're within driving distance of Griswold, CT, I recommend the trip to see Sunflowers For Wishes and try the coffee ice cream. The sunflowers will be there until August 5th I think. Anyway, we went yesterday and bought a couple bouquets of sunflowers and had ice cream.
Today's two challenges were perfect for my sunflower mood today! MariLynn's challenge of burned glue made fun centers for my sunflowers and there were so many bees buzzing around the bouquets of flowers yesterday that I couldn't resist drawing some onto my card for Dawn's "Winged Things" challenge.

The burned glue technique is so interesting for flower centers and works so well. I like your hand drawn bees....I can't draw a thing. Pretty card with all the sunflowers.

Oh, that must be such a sight to see. We've seen big fields of sunflowers in France, unlike anything I've seen here (not hot enough - though this summer would be!). Fields of sunflowers AND coffee icecream, what a lovely trip out. And what a sweet card - that rustic image is fab with the gingham. I like the angled layout.
Hmm, I'd actually been thinking of making coffee icecream, you might just have pushed me over the edge.

I saw your post (with your adorable sons) and those sunflowers were gorgeous!! Love your card with the sunflower paper, and that sweet little image. Have a great day, neighbor!

A perfect sunflower themed creation! I've always loved that little basket of sunflowers ~ not sure if I still have that set or not (must look). The burned glue made fantastic centers for the blossoms.
