Yesterday's Ways to Use It challenge was to involve tissue paper. My tissue paper is the piece stamped with the script.
I just got Gelatos so I was playing around with them in making this card. First, I scribbled with several colors of gelatos directly on the flower stamp from Heartfelt Thanks, spritzed it with water, and stamped it on the white card stock.
I covered the background with gesso and then used a variety of gelato colors to create the background. I adhered the stamped tissue piece to the gelato background and then randomly applied texture paste here and there. To finish that piece, I sponged Momento Black all around the edges.
I used the stamp-a-ma-jig to line up the outline stamp with the flower image to just give it some definition. The white card stock was too bright so I used some cling wrap to lightly stamp So Saffron around the flower and tone down the white.
A little ribbon and popping up the flower panel, then I adhered it all to an Orchid Opulence card base.
This is definitely outside of my comfort zone but it was fun to create!
Thanks for looking!

You really turned on the mixed media for this card....and had a lot of fun it sounds like. I like how you used gelatos on the stamp and your bg and the stamped script is always a winner on any card.

Oh wow! It's been so long since I have used that stamp set, and you reminded me of how much I adored it over the years! You did a lovely job incorporating it into this really neat design! Thanks so much for sharing.

I really love your fabulous mixed media bg, Catherine! The text on the tissue paper and black inked edges looks terrific and the colours are so warm and lovely! I like this flower stamped with the gelatos - this was one of my first stamp sets and I still have it..
