ABC11G7: Last week we were on the letter G for the Alphabet challenge. The double challenge was to make a get well card. I have that covered!
The things for the letter G on my card include: green (several shades of it), the word green in the sentiment on front, stamp set called Get Well.
Have you ever had an idea for a card flit into your head but you didn't write it down right then and then you couldn't recall it for the life of you later on? I had what I am sure was a brilliant idea for a get well card but I can't remember it for the life of me!
Then I thought of this idea but, frankly, was dragging my feet on making it because it seemed like too much work! lol Once I got started, it was fun. There are several things I would do differently for the next time. I always learn when making cards!
I started by cutting my band aid stamp apart from the sentiment that appears right below it. I know I could have masked it but do you see how many times I stamped the band aid? I have seen paper crafters cut their stamps apart and it has made me brave enough to join them.
After stamping and masking repeatedly, I finally had the edge completely stamped. I colored my band aids various shades of green and just one pink one as a nod to my sentiment. I fussy cut the edge and added a pink strip to the inside panel so it would show through.
Next I die cut the circle out of the front and stamped the well wishing lady on the inside so she shows through to the front. I stamped the sentiment on the front using my alphabet stamps. Inside I colored the lady and hand wrote my sentiment.
This was a fun card to make...once I got myself going!
Thanks for looking!

G for GREAT! WOW I don't know what your original idea was (apparently neither do you) but this turned out fantastic....so fun. I'm glad you enjoyed making it cuz with all that masking etc it looks like a lot of work...but it was worth it....super cute!!

Awesome card Catherine! Love all those masked and fussy cut bandaids! You really put some time and thought into this one! Super! I know what you mean about having an idea and then losing it into the stratosphere never to be thought of again! LOL I do that a lot at night when I'm trying to fall asleep. I should write my ideas down but then I'd really be wide awake1

This is GREAT! Love your idea of all the green band-aides and the one pink...it really is eye-catching. Your lady peeking through your circle aperture is a GREAT idea. This is such a cheerful and fun card, great to receive when your feeling under the weather!

Oh wow Catherine, what a great get well card this is! I love all the different band-aids along the side of the card in various shades of green, except for the pretty pink one. I had to giggle about the lady on the inside because when I am sick and start feeling better, I get my purse out because I am ready to do some shopping too! Ha! This is just delightful. I would say the other idea you had will work perfectly for another card because this idea was brilliant! ~Karen.
