Karen is our hostess in the Color Challenge this week. She has asked us to make a card using Petal Pink, Soft Seafoam and Crumb Cake. The dessert option this week is polka dots. Sadly, no dessert for me this week.
I took my inspiration for this card from the amazing and talented Kristina Werner. As I watched her on this technique, I kept thinking of an ancient SU stamp that's been in my stash for years with hardly any use. I have loved it, just haven't been able to figure out what to do with it!
So I followed Kristina's process, first stamping on Crumb Cake cardstock with Gina K. Amalgam Ink. It doesn't smear when used with Copic Markers. Then I took my C9 marker and filled in all the background areas around the flowers. I have to say it was easier than it looks, and I was pleased with the result. I die cut the sentiment and shadow, then all the flowers and leaves. I liberally sponged the pink and green inks on the greeting, flowers and leaves. Sprinkled them around the card, added some gems, and called it good.
Not a card that will go through the mail, but perfect for giving in person, perhaps with a small gift.
Thanks for stopping by, and please play along with us this week!
