I tried this technique 7 times. With acrylics, and water colors, none of them looked like the instructions. Maybe you truly need 91% alcohol. This was an extremely difficult challenge.
I cut the sea weed and tag from my my paper, fussy cut the turtles from sun kissed paper by graphic 45. I'm happy with my results and like my effects.
I did not put anything in the tag yet, right now its screaming the name Lisa to me.Y'-

You may be too hard on yourself. I didn't see your other attempts but this looks beautiful. I can see your blooms, the colors are gorgeous and you created a lovely ocean scene. Great in my book. I do wonder if the 91% alcohol would bring better results. I know my acrylic paint was very, very thinly painted on and I left hours of dry time between layers.

I agree with Kathy. This is beautiful and the BG is perfect for your ocean scene. It’s a beautiful card. TFS. Happy day
Ps..if it’s anyone’s consolation I tried the technique twice and before my panels dried I thought they had come out ok. Once dried you can’t see the rings of alcohol. Yours are much clearer.

This is very pretty! My alcohol is only 70%. I think maybe too much dry time is one of the problems. I just let mine dry enough to spread on the next layer with out mixing the colors. But as Jayne and Kathy have said , it is a beautiful BG for your wonderful ocean scene!

It's so interesting the different ways we are looking at this challenge. I thought I read in the tutorial that you need to make sure each layer is completely dry. I read it somewhere, I know that. such a hit or miss. But I feel like the 'misses', if there truly are some, are still pretty cool, yours does look like water. Excellent and thanks for playing...live and learn, right?

I think this looks beautiful in anyway, even if you didn't have the result you'd expected, beautiful underwater scene and I hope you kept all the panels, you can always stamp on them!!
