When I saw the colors, I thought two-step stamping would be nice; and I was reminded of Karen's beautiful card. It has been on my to-do list for some time to try her ideas. The stamps I used were designed to have a distressed look with faded areas, so I thought the wood-grain would coordinate nicely. The long-retired stamp set is wood-mounted so I used my Stamp-a-ma-jig for placement. First, I stamped the rose base with Flirty Flamingo ink pad and used my Terracotta Tile maker direct to stamp for the rose details. I masked the flower and stamped the leaves with Mossy Meadow (neutral), stamped off for the leaf base and fully inked for the leaf details. Keeping the rose mask on, I laid down a circle reverse mask and stamped the background with the Soft Suede being sure to press hard on the edges. Removed the masks and stamped the sentiment with Flirty Flamingo. Layered on Soft Suede textured cardstock and onto a Flirty Flamingo card base. Added Terracotta Tile dots for a finishing touch.
Thank you Chris for the wonderful colors and the inspiration to try these ideas. Thank YOU for looking!

This caught my eye right away, and I was thrilled to learn this was a case of Karen's pretty card. Wonderful case with the woodgrain and old set using the challenge colors!

Diane, what a pretty rose and the wood grain treatment is a wonderful backdrop for your floral images. I've been thinking about ordering Flirty Flamingo ink and card stock and your lovely card has shown me that I need to add those to my next order.

This is such a beauty and looks better than Hallmark! Great job of using this weeks colors. 'All' the masking you did to create the circle/flowers etc., was worth the effort! The wood grain stamp was an awesome touch as well! TFS
