The teapotters are sending cards to each other this week. Gracie is our hostess and the challenge was Open your eyes for 2020: There is beauty all around us. We are to make a card for how we felt this year. My dh and I are introverts, happy to be at home actually. I liked how quiet everything was at the beginning. I had fun getting into baking. I baked a lot of muffins among other tasty treats and shared some with a neighbour. We sure miss hugging our friends when we see them, social distancing of course, and just the general lack of freedom to come and go as we please without having to wear a mask. We have been walking daily. Got to burn some of those calories off, lol. Eyes were extra cookies. Ha, no extra cookies for me said the baker. (This fun baking set was a gift from Karen (art deco diva). Thanks again Karen.

As someone who just baked something yesterday..I can relate to this. I've made a lot of cookies this summer as well. Cute card ...I love all those baking images and the gingham framing layer.
Oh I do get out and walk, too....gotta watch out for all the extra calories.
Oh! I know your friends enjoyed your muffins! What a wonderful treat for you and a wonderful gift for them! I love your sweet baking images. This is a treat for the eyes!

Yes that's what I've done during the lock down, baking a lot, but this wasn't a good idea for the extra weight...lol, Your card is fantastic!! and I'm still laughing about the "no extra cookies for me"

You love baking? I need to get back into it for Christmas, your card is so cute and sweet! (No pun intended).

Sweet treats done up in the most delicious manner. I have done more baking than usual this year and covid-19 might just refer to the higher numbers on the scale and around my hips. Your card is yummy.

What a sweet and fun set. The gingham is a great background for it. I've enjoyed a bit of extra baking too. Nice that you were able to share - we did a bit of trading and bartering ingredients and finished goods in work. Thankfully the cycling has stopped me gaining anything! Got to be some good in it!!

This card looks like it was made with love -- just like your baked goods. You certainly picked happy colors and patterns to show off your mad cooking skills. I do wish I lived nearby though so I could share in your yummy treats -- the joke in my family is that if someone asks me what my favorite food is, my answer is "baked goods". Hugs and stay safe.

Fun card Shirl and we are like you and your DH...we enjoyed being in lockdown but we have been lucky and only had to stay in lockdown for 5 weeks this year. Our island within an island has paid off and my heart goes out to everyone who has had to endure months of lockdowns. TFS. Happy day
