Here is the inspiration for my card from Jane's gallery. CC813 Pumpkins on Herringbone by janemom at Splitcoaststampers
I changed mine so it would be Christmas, have a sentiment on the front instead of an image, I used a small amount of ribbon but kept the herringbone technique for the background. I also made my card vertical instead of horizontal.
I cut strips 1/4" wide and added adhesive to the card base. Then I put the strips of paper on the base following this tutorial. Herringbone Tutorials at Splitcoaststampers
I stamped my sentiment and cut it out using a die from Stitched So Sweetly. I cut the cherry paper to go behind the sentiment with the same die set.
I added the sentiment then added the ribbon and pearls.

So TRUE, Sue. They are the true gifts of Christmas - hoping the Pandemic at least allows everyone to see that! Love the very warm and comforting background and the focus on the sentiment. Great case and card. Hugz

My DD is making everyone quilts for Christmas this year. Looks like one of hers. Beautiful!
