This card was made for a sketch challenge that had an optional challenge to use a birthday theme. I was inspired by Wanda at https://www.starlightstamper.com/202...greetings.html . What caught my eye was her use of a paper crimper in one corner of her card. I haven't used my paper crimper in YEARS (maybe as many as 10 years!).
So for the diagonal element of the sketch I put my white heavy cardstock in at a 45 degree angle and cranked it through. It was just what I wanted it to look like! I chose heave cardstock so the crimping would stand up to being mailed.
The center shadow box was created by die cutting three stitched squares from heavy white cardstock, then stacking and gluing them together for dimension.
The ladybugs were stamped with black ink, then scanned on my Brother ScanNCut and cut out with a 0.04" margin around them. I then colored them with Copic markers.
The green leaves were die cut using the Stampin' Up! (SU) "Animal Friends" die set. Finally the birthday sentiment was stamped using Versamark onto black cardstock, then die cut with SU "Bunch of Banners" die.
All assembly was done using Tombow glue. I first glued the ladybugs to the stacked frame, then glued the green leaves on the back of the frame, then glued the frame to the card front. Finally the sentiment was glued to the frame front.
I am rating the difficulty level at "3" out of a possible "5" because of all the steps required. None of the individual steps are particularly difficult, though.
