This card was made for a sketch challenge that had the option to create a "bendy/bendi" card. I chose to make a fenced flower garden using SVG cutting file for the fence and gate.
Since the fence was going to be bent and tucked into its "bendy" slots, I need the it to be quite sturdy. So, I digitally cut three each of the fence and gate from heavy white cardstock. I embossed one of each using the Stampin' Up! (SU) "Seaside" embossing folder, then glued all three of each together with the embossed piece on top to give the look of woodgrain.
There is an excellent tutorial for "bendy" cards at: Bendi Fold Tutorials at Splitcoaststampers Note that I reversed the tall and short bent pieces so that the taller fence was attached to the right instead of the left side of the card. Also, for added strength, I layered two 4-1/4"x 5-1/2" cards to form the base of the card.
Because one of my bent sections was a fence, I had to carefully mark where the two horizontal fence pieces where and cut them with an Exacto knife to match the two horizontal fence boards on the left green solid bent card.
The sunflowers were cut with SU "Pierced Blooms" dies using shimmery yellow and green cardstock. To give the flower stems rigidity, I cut two stems per flower and glued them together.
Note that the gate was glued inside the card on the card base, rather than used as a second bent arm as I'd originally planned. It wasn't long enough to form the left arm, and I was concerned that two bendy arms wouldn't be stiff enough since all the fence boards are potential fold spots.
I am rating the difficulty level of this card as a "3" out of a possible "5". The tutorial is pretty good, so if you use solid arms no fancy die/digital cutting is required. The trick if you use a cut fence is that it has to be long enough to form one/both of the bendy arms, so that could be more challenging.
