The teapotters are sending cards to Lee Ann this week for some cheer for her health issues. Jen is hosting and the challenge was dogs, but Lee Ann has a cat and loves flowers as well. Also for Dawn's last hostess challenge of our favorite things. What a game changer it was for me when sponging with DOX's came on the market, cause I sure couldn't do it with regular distress inks at all. So that is a fave for sure. I sponged colors first on bristol and then cut out the hollyhocks. These are much taller, but I cut them down for this. Found this daff delight piece that was already diecut so I went with using it. I used press n' seal once I had arranged the hollyhocks and then glued them down. Popped up a few with dimensionals. Fence is popped up as well as the kitty and sentiment. I used a Fantastix tool to spread some ground for the kitty and the fence and sponged the fence with it also. I punched out some hearts from the leftover sponged bristol, I fussy cut more of the kitty too. Thanks Jen for hosting the teapotter challenge. Thanks Dawn for hosting this last challenge!

Shirl, how I love those DOX sponged hollyhocks and that cute fence! That kitty is so adorable and I love your clever idea of placing the series of hearts above the kitty! Your sentiment is perfect for Lee Ann!

So glad you got a kitty on your card (lots of dogs this challenge and, as you mentioned, Lee Ann does have a cat as well), and I love the little hearts going up. Your hollyhocks turned out fabulous! Great card!

As a previous cat mom (who is still mourning the loss of them), I can certainly attest to the healing hugs (and sandpaper kisses) of kitties! I love the scene you created, Shirl, brought back a lot of memories!
