This is my second entry for Color Challenge 76. I went from winter fun to the dogs days of summer. This color combo is very versatile and would normally be thought of for fall. I always want to play with the "little truck" when I need a pick up. No pun intended.
I sponged in creamy caramel (one added color not in the challenge) with a sponge dauber to create the dirt road. Then I used a large sponge to put down the old olive for the base of the ground. I used IBB to place little dirt spots on the road and then filled in the gound with my wonderful little fern stamp from Watercolor Minis. I used a small liner brush to create the weeds along the road and hillside. Then I used a ruler to draw a straight line across from one hillside to the other to use as a guide to create the water. I masked off the water on the sky side and used a sponge and Bordering Blue to create the water line. I sponged a little darker along the weeds and waters edge to give texture. Then I used the cloud template and Bordering Blue again to create the sky. I did cheat and added a little yellow to the sky.
I stamped the car, masked and stamped the dogs in the car front and back and rolled out the dogs and painted both with reinkers and a watercolor brush. I cut everything out and placed everything with mounting tape, dimensionals and adhesive. I had to use a little liquid applique on the poodle to give her an extra touch of cuteness. I hope I haven't gotten too long winded.

Breathtaking! My goodness this is just incredible and certainly does capture the dog days of summer! I just love this! You have really outdone yourself!
Friends are like the walls of a house. Sometimes they hold you up, sometimes you lean on them. But sometimes, it's enough to know they're just standing by.
