Please do not give up on the candles! They are really simple if you know the tricks! Of course everyone knows to stamp on tissue paper and then melt it to the candle, but do you use wax paper as well? What I do is put the image where I want it and then wrap wax paper tighly aroud the candle. Then I heat it, once I see the wax paper sweeting, I stop heating it and roll it on the desk so it will keep its round shape. I have had great success with this and am doing as a project at my next stamp till you cramp. My customers and hostess' all love them and most often, I give my hostess a candle as a thank you gift.
I know this was long winded, but please... dont give up on the candles.. they are beautiful and make great gifts. And your choice for this candle was precious! nice job!

I tried once or twice and it kept melting also and turned out looking terrible. I guess I will try it again after reading STAMPMOMX2SC's comment. Thanks.

I just made my first candle last week! I didn't have any trouble, but I was very patient. I think maybe you're holding the heat gun in one place, too close, for too long??? Keep trying! I'm going to demo these at workshops for the holiday season and give as a gift to the hostess too! Walmart has the huge 4-wick pillar candles for $4.88!!!! I also glue a Christmas pick or some berry looking things on with the ribbon/string embellishment. They are truly a wonderful gift!!! The Dollar stores have pedestal bases for $1-$2!
