Another idea I've used for my stamp club members is to create a color chart booklet for them. (I really need to make some new ones.)
Hostess Color Chart Booklets
Overview:
I created the template for this using Microsoft Publisher. (I might have a Word version of it but it is on my old computer.)
This requires two sheets of standard printer paper (in addition to your card stock choices.) The first sheet of paper to run through your printer has the SU! 48 color families (item numbers and names). It is split with each color family occupying 1/4 of the page. Then the second page is also split into 1/4 and has charts for our other specialty papers and vellums. The page with our 48 colors has a place for placing a small square of card stock; a square blank to stamp the corresponding color; and then a square to color a line from the marker. When cut apart and glued together right it creates these wonderful little booklets that help people make future selections (or keep track of what they have.) In addition to the 48 colors I also have pages for our vellums, mulberry, and specialty card stocks (glossy, metallics, naturals, confetti, window sheets, velveteen paper, etc.)Here's a little more help to design one of these . . .
Directions:
1. Create charts as desired and print onto standard copy (printer) paper.
2. Cut the printed, blank color charts apart. All these charts will be placed in the same booklet. Cut the sheets apart vertically (long-ways). These will measure 4 1/4" wide X 11" tall.
3. Then fold each section. On the first sheet you will crease at the half way and the quarter way point (like an accordion fold).
4. Mount two sections together back to back using glue or monoadhesive or hermafix tabs. You use glue to attach the first 4 1/4" wide sheet to the inside cover of the booklet. You attach the second sheet to the bottom of the first gluing the backs together. Then you attach the third (Mulberry/Vellum) sheet which you've scored the same way as the other two, at the 1/2 mark and the 1/4 mark.
5. Then insert the color charts into the cover.
You glue the back of the Mulberry color chart sheet to the other inside back cover. And you glue the back of the first color chart to the front of the inside cover. Then fold shut and attach the velcro tab to hold shut.
Notes on Creating these Color Chart Booklets:
* On cutting the paper samples . . .
I used a small square punch (not one SU! carries.) to make quick samples of each card stock we carry. Then I just used some liquid glue to apply. Doing it this way helps speed the process so you can create many at once.
* On mounting the Mulberry . . . I cut and mounted it rather than using the punch. The punch was not cleanly punching through the Mulberry paper.
* On mounting the vellum . . . I just use our two way glue stick along the top. Apply only to the top 1/8" though so you can fold vellum up. This allows them to slide a piece of card stock under it to determine what it will look like in their card design.
Clear as mud? Sorry. This is one of those things that is harder to explain than to do. It is a lot of work but it's a labor of love. I know my hostesses and club members really appreciate these color chart booklets and if you make a bunch at once it goes pretty fast. You could also use these as booking incentives. You will see people using them and they'll discover colors or card stocks they might not have purchased otherwise. It's a win/win.

Just how does one go about sharing a template in this forum? I'm still pretty new here and I don't quite understand how or where I'd post such things. Is there a section for downloadable forms?
