Cut your cardboard in the desired shapes. Use 2 pieces glued together if you want the pin to have more substance. You need nice straight cuts so use an exacto knife but very sharp paper scissors will work in a pinch.
Now take & ink up the whole surface with Versamark. Add various colors of Pearl Ex Powders to create your background, When you are happy with the result, brush off the excess and reink the surface with Versamark and then dip into clear embossing powder & heat. Repeat once more. Let cool throughly in between coats.
Now stamp your image on your project with StaZon, let dry. Then ink the surface up again with Versamark and use the Pearl Ex once more to color in your image as you desire. Blow off excess and then reink and apply another coat of clear EP to seal in your image.
I put 2 additional coats and it really looks like you have done enameling on metal instead of cardboard.
Now take your Sticky Tape and go all around the outside edge of the pin. Dip in EP of your choice, one section at a time & heat. Depending on how thick the pin is sometimes I will apply a second coat but just coat the edges a second time with Versamark and dip into EP. Do not apply the sticky tape again.
Finally, apply 1 final coat of Clear embossing powder to the pin and you are done.
Embellish with whatever floats your boat.
Very important: Do not hold the heat gun to close to the pin. You are using clear EP & it will burn & turn yellow to brown and you don't want to do this.
Remember if you try to use foam core board the foam inside the board will eventually melt since you are heating this so many times & you will get an uneven surface & a very ragged edge.
I used Stampin Up clear embossing powder but you can also use UTEE.
Any further questions feel free to ask. I hope this helps.
Good luck!
Barbara

Thanks so much for sharing detailed instructions! Beautiful pin. Just the sort stamping project I like. And I'll order "In Full Bloom" this week - I haven't seen anything using this set I haven't liked.

The Pearl Ex is pretty set into the pin before I apply another coat of Versa Mark over it. I have never had a problem with the Pearl Ex tranfering to the pad. I do use one of my older pads that I just keep re-inking for projects like this but honestly it doesn't look any different than my newer pads.
