This is the flip flop book my oldest son and his class put together for their teachers end of the year gift. She loves shoes so thought this would be cute, I had each child trace their foot and draw/write something special about their year of 2nd grade. I also added little phrases and such regarding teachers and little feet. She loved this and cried.

Here are the details as best I can get for you. Thanks to all for your sweet comments, it was a truely fun project!
Yes its a real flip flop (cheap ones from Michaels) and then I traced one of the flip flops 22 times to make a page for each child. I then took a large macrome hoop and used my husbands pliers to pry them open enough to get a flip flop through, and each peace of paper... that took the most time, then the last flip flop. Then each child I sent home a sheet of white c/s and had them trace their foot and draw and write something special of the teacher or their school year. I found fun little poems and phrases by searching on google. Once everything was attatched to the hoop then with the same pliars and a lot of body strength got the hoop closed. I did use duct tape to secure the closer, after that I covered that area with ribbon. So the actual flip flops are the cover of the book. The teacher loved this.
