This is a Target mailbox that I altered for my friend Michele, for Valentine's Day! My good friend Beth was in town visiting and we decided to give these cute mailboxes a try! This is the view from the flag side, I have also posted a picture of the view from the other side.
To cut the cover for the mailbox, I cut a piece of dp (I cannot remember who it is designed by) 4 inches wide, and 12 inches long. I measured up 3 1/2 inches up from the bottom left corner and cut 1/2 inch in from that point. At the end of the 1/2 inch cut, I used my crop-a-dile to make a large enough hole to fit around the base of the flag (I don't have a small circle punch to do this, so I had to use the cad several times). I ran some cool brown and pink ribbon, from Making Memories, around the borders of the main mailbox panel. I adhered the cover to the mailbox with sticky strip. For the cover of the box lid, I traced the lid on a piece of very vanilla cs. I then sponged pretty in pink all over the panel and then stamped the linen bg in chocolate chip over it (it was stamped off on scratch paper first). On the back panel is a piece of the same dp used over the main body of the mailbox. The flowers on the side are primes, and an aged copper brad is in the center. The big V (for Valentine) is chipboard and I have had it for awhile, so I have no idea who it is made by. The small chocolate chip flowers on the front were made with the Three For You Punchbox, and the little pretty in pink hearts were made with a punch from the Mike's dollar bin. I used some Fruit Punch stickles to add the sparkle to the centers of the hearts (which are up on mini pop dots). The image over the top of the flag is from Loving Hearts (retired) and is on both sides of the flad. The image is stamped in black stazon and colored using the gamsol magic technique. I tied ribbon aroung the pole of the flag- I used chocolate chip 5/8" grosgrain and pretty in pink 1/4" grosgrain (I alternated them and used 3 pieces of each).
Beth and I had so much fun making these little mailboxes, they were really easy and make such a great treat container!
Thanks for looking and I hope you like it!
