I decided that the inkpad storage that my dh had built for a different room than I am in now just wasn't working for me so when I came across this homemade inkpad storage, I decided to try and make it:
It turned out pretty good and the engineering was brilliant. I decided to use the concept to make a tool caddy/storage unit to sit beside it. The picture is dark because I don't have the ideal lighting in my room for picture taking but the top holds my scissors in custom-sized slots so they don't flop over too much plus other tools. Then there are all kinds of cubbies for different accessories and embellishments. In the bottom, kind of supporting the whole thing are my two marker/pen holders. It's really hard to believe this is all made out of foam core board and hot glue. Here are the dimensions of all the parts of my shelf storage:
Overall: 14 5/8 wide x 4 3/8 deep x 12 hight
1 - back - 14 1/8 x 12
2 - sides - 4 3/8 x 12
3 - shelves - 4 1/8 x 14 1/8
2 - dividers - 4 1/8 x 3
2 - dividers - 4 1/8 x 2 5/8
1 - top shelf facing - 2 1/2 x 14 1/8
7 - top dividers (for scissors, etc.) - 2 x 2 1/2
At most, I think it took me 1 1/2 sheets of 20 x 30 foam core to make my unit.

This looks great! WOW Would you happen to have the dimensions for the one you came up with? I would love to try to make that one! It is exactly what I was looking for to put in my space!
