I decided to do something a little off the beatin' path so instead of just having a standard card I've turned this into an easel card. That is to say that there is a piece of card stock that is cut in a sort of triangle that is attached to the back of the card that makes it stand upright, like a picture frame.
The text on the card was created using the SU! font CD and then printed on acetate which was attached to the black matte (which I created using the Coluzzle and a brass stencil for dry embossing the edges.) After attaching the acetate to the black frame, I mounted this piece using dimensionals. I wanted added depth and the shadows that the text creates so that is why I chose the 3-dimensional approach to mount.
This was a very fun project and makes a nice little display for anyone's desk or even looks good enough to take center stage on my fireplace mantle.

Oh my, you've done it again! What a fabulous piece of artwork! And what a great special project idea. I love everything you did with this, and I have now put the SU Font CD on my wish list (the Balmy Breezes set is now in the bull pen). And thanks so much for including, as usual, detailed instructions. Care to share the colors you used in your custom spectrum pad? Linda

Oh my gosh Colleen, this is just stunning. That verse is so beautiful and the sunrise in the background is just perfect. You are a true artist! Bet you're ready for some balmy morning breezes....
