Today's challenge was to use wild wasabi, taken with teal and white. This is the first colour challenge I've done. I had to go to work today but I had some time to think about which stamps I wanted to use. The idea for this card came to me. Originally I wanted to use one of the butterflies from winged things but I came across Natural Beauty first and liked the size of that butterfly better. I think I made a wise choice. I stamped the large scroll from Baroque Motifs in wild wasabi and then using ink from my taken with teal pen I used a watercolour branch to hilight all the branches of the scroll. I stamped the butterfly twice with memories ink and watercoloured with my taken with teal ink from the pen and then used the pen directly to darken the image in certain places. I mounted the butterfly flat on one branch and then layered a second one on top and lifted up the wings for a 3-D effect. I punched the squares at the bottom out of white paper. I used DTP on all the white edges in taken with teal ink and then mounted all of the white pieces onto wild wasabi and layered that piece onto a white base. I punched another 1/2 inch square punch out of a scrap of white to use as a mask and stamped the small flower from Baroque Motifs through the opening in the mask in a staggered way. Then I used the white signo pen to hilight some of the scroll's branches. Then I stickled the butterfly wings and the flower centers. I ended by spaingly adding the white dots between the small squares and the grouped dots around the main image. And last of all I stamped the Hero Arts sentiment just to be daring. That's a good way to end up with having to start over because you got it crooked. And I was being lazy and did it freehand. All I can say is that the stamp was very well mounted by whoever put it together and everything is perfectly straight with the label exactly matching the rubber. Lucky me!!! This was a really nice colour combination and I liked working with it and hopefully I came up with a delicate looking card because that's what I was aiming at. Hope you like my interpretaion of wild wasabi, taken with teal and white.
