I started my card yesterday. Last night after supper, I severely cut my thumb preparing leftovers. Fortunately, it was my non-dominate hand. Today, it still hurts!! It's amazing how much I want to use that thumb. I wanted to give up finishing this today; however, I was inspired by Brenda/Tessaduck, who kept going following shoulder surgery and found a way to participate in DTGD Challenges. My card didn't turn out as I planned, but it's okay. I didn't give it a "thumbs down". Three challenges:
Alphabet -Letter R with Bonus to use a rose. I also have ribbon & rhinestones
Sketch - The design enabled me to use my brand new dies. I've never had Spellbinders before, so it was learn as I go.
Color - The Cherry & Artichoke worked great for a rose. I inked the stamps and lightly missed them with water before stamping, which caused a little intentional smearing. I dropped some water & cherry ink around. Then I used a wonderful airbrush that I won during HYCCT last October with my Pool Party marker to add some soft speckles of color. Finished with the dessert of "bling" and a ribbon.
Thanks for looking!

Ouch, sorry about your injury. I got a new bread knife recently, and you can guess what happened first time I used it ;-).
The sketch was a perfect opportunity to use your new dies, and I love the rose image.

Beautiful card for the R and Double R challenge. You get a big A+ for persevering through a bad injury to finish this lovely card - I am impressed. It is interesting how we hardly notice we have fingers or thumbs, until one of them does not work right or is injured - sigh. I am sorry you cut yourself so badly - I do hope it heals well for you! I love the colors you used for your card, and the curvy border really is a fabulous finishing touch for your image. Well done! ~Karen.

Oh my goodness. That is one sweet card. I love those curved spellbinders dies you used. Doncha just hate when you injure your fingers? Cuts into the card making, but I am happy you got this one done. I am giving it two thumbs up, definetly.
