I made this card for last week's Teapot Tuesday challenge. Jen is our hostess and she has a wonderful challenge called "Coffee Party!" So fun! The recipient of this party really paid it forward in a big way so even if you cannot make a card, read the story because it will warm your heart through and through.
I have to be honest here, I could not come up with a coffee card to save my soul. I have coffee stamps and dies, but no inspiration at all. This beautiful doily was gifted to me by a dear friend so I wanted to use this somehow. Coloring this coffee cup image with copic markers helped, then the card went pretty quickly after that.
The linen white wash cardstock has some texture to it that I really like so I decided to emboss it, then I took a SU Creamy Caramel ink pad and ran it lightly over the raised areas for some added color. Stamped the sentiment, added some W1 copic marker around the edges to tone down the white, then added it to the scalloped piece I die cut out of the teal background floral stamped piece. In the end, this card was a whole lot of fun to make.
Thank you for this terrific challenge Jen and thanks for looking! ~Karen.

Wow, Karen, this is fabulous! I love all the textures you have going on it! And great way to use that gifted doily!

I LOVE this and it is going straight into my faves! Love your idea of the woodgrain to sit your coffee cup on! This is such a pretty card using that doily! Woo hoo!

Love the colour combo. And oh my, that background! It's one of my three top favourite folders but I usually only use it for smaller areas...it looks super here. The floral wrapper on the cup and the wooden counter top add to the wonderful shabby chic, feminine feel.
