I made this card for VSN challenge: "Summer of 1968" by Jeanette. The song I chose was, "Young Birds Fly" by The Cryan Shames. It was top hit #44 on Chicago's WLS radio station. I used to listen to that station back in the day on my little transistor radio.
The first verse says, "What's wrong with Mary?" And I think the chorus can be applied to the crazy times we're living in now (I'm sick of the term "new normal" by the way.)
"Young birds fly in early spring
Learn new songs to sing
And each song they know can help them to grow.
Mary questions everything she's ever known before"
I think we'd all like to sing again!
This card was made from some beautiful Graphic 45 paper and then, I added Stickles gold glitter and the "Friend" symbol, stamping and heat embossing in black on red card stock.
I cut out parts of my paper to create the background and layered the main image onto gold paper. I used 3D pop dots to pop up the different panels.
This card is being sent as a "tickle" for the Teapot Challenge, also. tfl

Super use of your Graphic 45 papers to create this card. I like the way you made the faux postage look around your sentiment to mimicked the postage stamp in the opposing corner.

Love it! and love the G45 papers (I used Bird Song collection on my Teapotter, too). I love all the little details of gold and black, very fitting for the Asian influence. Such a great card.

This is so gorgeous Gracie! I love how you made this card to match a song for another challenge and yet still found a very interesting way to add an Asian touch to it with your sentiment. Fantastic image and I love the card design too. ~Karen.

Gorgeous paper, great layout. The paper reminded of some little bookmarks I had and adored when I was about six or seven - maybe they were calendars? They definitely had Chinese script on them, and this type of bird.
