I used a spectrum pigment ink pad to create colorful candles with Paint Prints for these birthday pages, and was inspired for the layout by this week's Scrapbook Sketch #18!

Bekster, nicely done. I like the 'pink passion' on the title page. Who needs colored cardstock this day when you can do the Bekster technique and sponge....

I use Corel Draw to plan my pages. I create the titles and journaling, then create shapes for each photo to the size that works best. I arrange everything and make adjustments before I cut or print anything out. I even measured the Paint Prints stamps and made a little object the size that the candles would be once stamped, and used it in my planning to make sure everything would fit.
Once I get it all planned, I just move all the extra stuff off to the side and print my journaling directly onto the background paper or whatever I am wanting it on - sometimes vellum. For this one, I printed the "My Birthday" just on white cardstock and finished it off with stamps and stuff! It saves me so much time and headaches, because I rarely cut anything wrong now.
And those Scrapbook Sketches help a lot!
