Funny how a project gets started. Often times I choose an embellishment, like this big button, to get me started. I was not going to make this card without this button! The theme of the card gradually focused on the sentiment, therefore I had to change the orientation of the sketch. However, I met a snag: I had never used the stamp before, despite owning it forever, and the stamp has a dip in it and some of words would not stamp. So I had to repair with a marker. I think this stamp is going in the garbage. :( I thought about using a real feather but liked the idea of the mica, which I know is old as the hills as far as stamping goes but I still like it. So this project had several issues but I'm happy with the result, which is more fallish than anticipated and has lots of texture because of the distressing, inking of edges and materials chosen. TFL.

Oh, don't throw away the stamp! Just lay it on it's back after inking and press the cardstock down on the rubber, gently smoothing over the stamp with your hand. You'll be so happy with the results and even happier that you didn't throw this wonderful stamp in the garbage. :-)
Brilliant to use a button!!! Makes me want to try again using a button! Love that idea. Love the mica with the feather - too cool! Love the stamp, have you tried those rockers? Maybe that could save it, the sentiment is wonderful, it's sad to think you couldn't use it again. Your project has the most wonderful earthy feel, LOVE it!

I like it! I like it! AND your whole idea of starting with the button. So many of my cards start out that way. In fact, mine today did too. I love your earth tones and truly, the button makes the card - of special interest.
