This is for Lydia's mixed media challenge "transferance". Lydia provided a video tutorial (in an American accent, which truly surprises me as you all have Aussie accents in my head).
I digress, not only was there a video, there were links to several more tutorials....how could I go wrong.
I followed all of Lydia's instructions but I seriously struggled when it came time to rub the mod podge off with my fingers. As you can see, I had to get out a man sized scraper.
I did the technique again....same result. Oooops I used modeling paste instead of Mod Podge. You knew that didn't you. Buried under all these layers is a very lovely picture from a book.
Perhaps I should not upload this in the MIX129 challenge, but technically it is a MIX129, albiet a failed attempt.
The handdrawn water drops are from Lydias MIX 105 tutorial (I had no trouble with that - only two ingredients LOL.
In the spirit of 'transferance" I transformed the crazy bird into a fish. Thanks for looking and have a great weekend.

Susie...You must be on steroids...cranking out all of these wonderful cards today. This one is three WOW's on the WOW! scale. (I had a friend who was on steroids once and she shingled her whole roof in one day!) Speaking of scales...love the scales on your transgender (maybe not the right word) Tim Holtz "fish". I especially have fallen in love with your signature stick thingies. Here they make me think of strands of seaweed with wee air bubbles attached to them. Nice touch. Have a fabulous weekend. I'm definitely working on cards this weekend...you've inspired me.

Ah, the rubbing off is not always easy!! I must confess that I almost skipped the challenge with memories of practically rubbing my fingers raw when I tried packing tape transfer. I think that technical fails still qualify because they were tries, and I am so glad you uploaded this. Your underwater scene is as beautiful and magical as your overland ones. And your crazy fish is way cool.

What an outstanding card for the Mix challenge, Susie, despite your issues!! You are SO good at creating water drops and I did recognise your brilliant creativity changing a crazy bird to a crazy fish!! Straight into my favs - typing this as I watch the start to Day 3 of the cricket! We're doing alright, aren't we?

While you may have "technically failed", the transference process your mix and end result are anything but a failure - LOVE IT! Love your crazy bird/fish - brilliant! I always love your comments - great way to start or end a day with a smile.

WOW! Your failures are far superior to my successes and I love seeing all of them! You create such spectacular backgrounds! I love seeing how you transform your characters with such imagination. I also love seeing the stamping you use to enhance the effects of your spectacular background!

Yikes, Susie, this "transference" is beyond my wildest dreams of what "could" be!! LOVE that you changed a birdie into a fishie - still with the unmistakable humor for which you are so well known!! Love the background, the added seaweed, water droplets, and your "stick thingies" with little droplets, to make this awesome underwater scene!! Way to go, (in my best fake Aussie accent!)

If the transfer is somewhere on your card, I don't think you failed. One of the things that I have noticed about mixed media is all the different layers. I have watched videos that when I looked at what the artist was creating, I would have said to myself, "Oh look they are done." Then the artist goes on to put several layers on top of that layer where the "done" part is hardly showing at all but end result is a piece of art. I think that is the case with your creation. The transformation of your bird to a fish is so creative, and I love how your water droplets look. Wasn't that a fun challenge. I still find myself wanting to put "water" on my projects.
