This StampinÂ’Up! Graveyard Gate Bundle Halloween card was one of our color challenges. I loved how it turned out so different from the the traditional blacks, purples, oranges, etcÂ…
The color palette I had to work with was Early Espresso, Sahara Sand, Crumb Cake, and Very Vanilla. ButÂ… I really wanted to use that beautiful new detailed gate thinlet die from the 2017 Holiday catalog! I made it workÂ… lol Â…
Start with an A2 card base of early espresso cut at 11″ x 4.25″. Score and fold at 5.5″. The top sponged layer is sahara sand cardstock cut at 5.25″ x 4″. I used the Big Shot die cutter to to cut out the detailed gate in early espresso cardstock.
Next, use a 1″ circle punch on the sticky part of a post it note to create a resist spot for sponging the sky. I sponged lightly in crumb cake and then added a few streaks of early espresso lightly to the sky. When you lift away the post it note circle you leave a clean spot ( voila moon!)
I very carefully cut out the center of the gate. Then I attached each side to the base and used foam adhesive strips to pop up the center. Add the lock, key, and sentiment and thatÂ’s it! Remember to make your envelope pretty!
