This is my 2nd attempt at Jan TInks' Joseph's Coat Inside Out Technique. I think I have the colors scanning better... This technique is really very easy to do

This card is beautiful! I've seen several cards in the gallery using this technique, and I too would like the instructions!! Please email me at [email protected] TIA
This is a twist on Joseph's Coat techniqe. Normally, you sponge or brayer color on cardstock, stamp with Versamark, emboss in clear, then brayer black over it.
Then you buff the excess ink off the embossed parts. But I got an idea from a Stampington stamp I saw recently of a snowflake that was a black block with the snowflake in white with newsprint inside it. Hmmm...so I did a little fooling around and came up with a number of pieces, each a little different. I'm not done playing with this technique...it adds so much depth!
This particular one is stamped with the By Definition stamp, some chalk inks (olive and gold) are dabbed on in places.
Then the whole thing is gone over with the embossing buddy (a very important step), then stamped with the paint prints stamps and embossed in clear.
Then I brayered on top with Rose Red and Eggplant Envy. I added a bit of navy chalk ink in the corners to deep the look a bit.
Nancy's steps:
For my variation on this theme, I sponged YoYo Yellow and just a tad of Rose Red on Confetti Cream c/s.
Then I stamped the By Definition background stamp in Basic Brown (which I forgot to include in my recipe-sorry!)
Then I stamped with Versamark and heat embossed with clear embossing powder (EP).
Then I sponged more heavily with Yoyo Yellow, Rose Rose and Night of Navy and wiped off the embossed area.
Then I stamped Delight saying in Basic Brown and mounted all layers. Isn't that easy? I didn't have the full variety of chalk inks, so improvised with my Classic inks and it seems to look okay anyway!

Gorgeous! Yes, the colors are much more vivid on this one, although I really liked the other one too. And thanks for the great instructions. I do really want to try this. Linda
