To answer Dawn 5377's ?'s. MCP stands for Magic Colored Pencil or the use of the Prismacolors, stumps and Gamsol. I use the stumps. I really love this method of coloring. For me it is more succesful than the watercolors and blender pens, I just don't seem to get that method right. I like the vivid color also.
For the masking it's just a matter of cutting out a paper mask of the image that is to be in front. I use a pait of precision point paper scissors that cut very close. I bought them at Walmart, I think they are called "cutter bees". I didn't have post it notes so I just use a sheet of typing paper and a piece of doublesided tape that I have stuck on my t-shirt or Jeans a few times to pick up some of the fuzz/lint so it is not so sticky on one side. That way it sticks just a bit to the card, but still easy to get off when I'm done, and doesn't tear the card or leave a mark. For omitting I cover the part of the stamp I don't want inked with masking tape, ink the stamp, then pull off the masking tape, and stamp.(Can you believe I find this relaxing?) At this time I'm eyeballing the placement since my stamp-a-ma-jig just came in and I haven't taken the tme to figure out how to use it. Thus the crooked fence line, but hey, it looks like all the rest of the fences around here in East Texas with all the rain and clay soil.
Someone else asked about how long? I probably spend a total of 2 hours maybe a bit more. It's getting easier though and when I use the same stamp I already have a paper mask made, saves on the cutting time. That time frame counts the goofs and mistakes that go into the scrap pile.
Thank you all once again for your encouragement, support and kind words. You always lift my spirits. As I've said before this is truly an AMAZING place to spend some time.
