Just thought I'd tap into your creative juices with a question about my son's party invitations. He wants an army theme and I'd like to print out postcard style invitations with a camaflouge border - any thoughts on how I could do something like this?? I'll add my own text (attention troops report for duty at 13:00 hours etc.!!)
Are there any templates online that I might be able to use?
This might be too much work (cutting and such), but you can buy camo paper. So you could cut the frames out of that and use the insides for something else.
You could also do shaving cream backgrounds in different greens and browns (old olive, garden green, creamy caramel). It isn't the exact same, but you get the idea and it is fun to do.

I saw someone's card in the Summer Mini gallery for "godspeed" stamps and I think she used a background called Safari? It isn't a camo design specifically, but if you wanted to do a background type feel, i think it looked really good.
or maybe mixing that and Antique Crackling (I think that's the name of background stamp). I don't know how that would look, but maybe one in brown, one in green.
Have you tried the rubber cement technique? I have a card in my favorites that used this technique for a camo background. Here it is: Gallery at Splitcoaststampers
Or you could just try sponging on different colors: greens, tans, browns, etc. The invitiations sound great and the party will be a blast!

I just did some cards by just using a sponge and dabbing the greens and browns around on the paper. I liked it much better than some other techniques that I tried.
I did a desert camo welcome home card for my hubby, it may not be what you are looking for but it is in my tiny gallery in the link below if you are interested.

This wouldn't work for a postcard style...but I did a boot camp graduation card for my nephew. I did an oragami shirt with camo paper. It came out SO cute. Mounted it to a sanded tan card front and stamped "Congrats" on it (but you could do "You're Invited"). Just another idea.
