Tape falling off with pink ATG gun

Hi, Just wondering if anyone is experiencing the tape roll falling off of the wheel on the pink atg gun. I am positive I have it on correctly and it works for awhile, but then lifts up off the wheel...

I am trying to do the burned batik technique, however, unsuccessfully. I cannot figure out what stage to heat the image to in order to get the batik look. Is it still supposed to look glazed...

I tried the other stamps in the set and made out fine...but may have to invest in the rubber...

OK, everyone gave me wonderful advice, and I mounted my first stamp,but, I still had a problem. The stamp was not positioned properly so when I took it off to readjust it,the foam tore in two places....

JUst wondering if it is the same thing to dip the pen in the pastel, marker etc and then apply to paper, or should I always outline the image first with the marker, etc and then use the pen to blend?
