The above link is STILL pending approval but the card I made this afternoon is up and running...go figure. I think this qualifies as shabby chic but nothing is torn or crumpled so please let me know....

Thanks, Julia

Default are they?

I guess I already tried this......I think. Look at them and let me know if they are shabby chic or not!

I agree that this is a real challenge for me. The card below is about as close as I have gotten. Maybe I'll have to work on another type.

Does this one count? I just uploaded it the other day when I was trying out a new technique. I know it wasn't made for this challenge specifically, but I was compelled to try something old and weathered looking, so maybe in a wierd way I was being clairvoyant.

It is great to see people stamping outside their comfort zones and producing such wonderful pieces of art. Someday I will find the time and nerve to try a challenge but for now congrats to all of you for the great cards.

I did a birthday tag for a friend and after I started inking the edges away, I remembered about the Shabby Chic challenge, so I decided to go shabby chic all the way.
Here's the result:

Okay. This is my last entry in this week's technique challenge...I promise. This one combines the color challenge from this week too.

See my Shabby Chic Card!!!

My first Shabby Chic, my first time with staples... WOW, I'm breaking out of my shell!

Great challenge--love the cards that have been posted.

I had a TERRIBLE time with this challenge, but I really want to be able to do it! Not too happy with it, but I'll try another one. The second card I already had in my gallery. I like that one much better.

Default My first challenge

Okay Ladies be gentle. Here is my attempt. This is the first challenge I've tried. I enjoyed the challenge because I used scrap paper and stuff from my sewing room. I thought that if it was too shabby and not chic enough I could just toss it and not feel guilt or as if I had wasted paper. I hope I've posted this correctly so the link works when the image is approved. Gallery at Splitcoaststampers
I'm one of those everyday customers and stamping fanatics that just loves to stamp, but has to work every day and only get to play with my toys in the evenings. So let me know what you think? Deb

OK one more - this one really does use Ruby Red (not Baroque Burgundy) - and combines SC20, CC09, TLC11:

This shabby chic is not my regular thing. I work so hard to not have any wrinkles and stray marks on my cards. hahaha So, I had to work hard to create this card. The worst part was coloring the ribbon. That is where I got creatively colored.

Here is my card.... How does it look to you? Is it shabby enough?

Thumbs up TLC11

Hi, I uploaded a card, it's pending approval, anyway when I tried to upload it here it said it's too big. I'm pretty much computer illiterate so not sure what to do.The card can be seen in today's new pictures or in my gallery.

Well, I had a little time today and was able to do a card that is a little better than my paris tag. Here is the link. I just posted it so it may not be approved yet. I had just gotten my Rubber Stamper magazine and this stamp was used on the cover card. It gave me the inspiration to do this card. I hope that you like it. Did I achieve the shabby chic look......it's hard for me!!

Here is my card. I too saw the cover on the Rubber Stamper and it inspired me to use that set as I didnt know what I had that would work for this, this was definitely a challenge. I started another one and it went in the waste basket. It wasnt even salvageable for something else.... It was too shabby,,, way too much DTP and tearing. ackk, it was awful. It is hard to be messy or should we say "planned" messy. Thanks for looking, I may give this another try.

I combined two challenges this week--shabby chic and the color combo.

Both were quite challenging for me--Somebody show me something to make me like Ruby Red!!

This is the one card that DIDN'T end up in the trash. It almost joined the others, but I felt like I needed to show SOMETHING for my night of work!

Maybe I'm trying to be TOO shabby?! Is this shabby chic or just a big, big mess?

My mom was over hanging with me while I was stamping, and she put together the Banana with the CC09 colors. I thought it was great with Ruby Red and the Sage.

I am in the midst of a move, and I haven't been able to keep up with leaving comments on all the challenge cards posted this week....they have all been fabulous!
