The above link is STILL pending approval but the card I made this afternoon is up and running...go figure. I think this qualifies as shabby chic but nothing is torn or crumpled so please let me know....
Does this one count? I just uploaded it the other day when I was trying out a new technique. I know it wasn't made for this challenge specifically, but I was compelled to try something old and weathered looking, so maybe in a wierd way I was being clairvoyant.
It is great to see people stamping outside their comfort zones and producing such wonderful pieces of art. Someday I will find the time and nerve to try a challenge but for now congrats to all of you for the great cards.

I did a birthday tag for a friend and after I started inking the edges away, I remembered about the Shabby Chic challenge, so I decided to go shabby chic all the way.
Here's the result:
I had a TERRIBLE time with this challenge, but I really want to be able to do it! Not too happy with it, but I'll try another one. The second card I already had in my gallery. I like that one much better.
Okay Ladies be gentle. Here is my attempt. This is the first challenge I've tried. I enjoyed the challenge because I used scrap paper and stuff from my sewing room. I thought that if it was too shabby and not chic enough I could just toss it and not feel guilt or as if I had wasted paper. I hope I've posted this correctly so the link works when the image is approved. Gallery at Splitcoaststampers
I'm one of those everyday customers and stamping fanatics that just loves to stamp, but has to work every day and only get to play with my toys in the evenings. So let me know what you think? Deb
I got another one done tonight! Lovin' this challenge Beth! Oops - it's past my bedtime and I just realized I forgot to put TLC11 in the key words and I forgot to enter a title. Oh well....
This shabby chic is not my regular thing. I work so hard to not have any wrinkles and stray marks on my cards. hahaha So, I had to work hard to create this card. The worst part was coloring the ribbon. That is where I got creatively colored.
Here is my card.... How does it look to you? Is it shabby enough?
Hi, I uploaded a card, it's pending approval, anyway when I tried to upload it here it said it's too big. I'm pretty much computer illiterate so not sure what to do.The card can be seen in today's new pictures or in my gallery.

Thanks. All the cards on here are great.
I have my 1st Shabby Chic card in my gallery. It was sooooooo much fun and easy. Sorry I have not figured out yet how to post a link to my cards, but if your go to my gallery nancy littrell you can see. Thanks everyone for so many, many great tech. ideas and gorgeous, gorgeous cards. Are we all having fun or what?!? Nancy
Here is a link to my shabby chic card. Hope this works. Thanks Beth for steering me to the info on how to do it. I'll keep it pasted above my computer.
Well, I had a little time today and was able to do a card that is a little better than my paris tag. Here is the link. I just posted it so it may not be approved yet. I had just gotten my Rubber Stamper magazine and this stamp was used on the cover card. It gave me the inspiration to do this card. I hope that you like it. Did I achieve the shabby chic look......it's hard for me!!
Here is my card. I too saw the cover on the Rubber Stamper and it inspired me to use that set as I didnt know what I had that would work for this, this was definitely a challenge. I started another one and it went in the waste basket. It wasnt even salvageable for something else.... It was too shabby,,, way too much DTP and tearing. ackk, it was awful. It is hard to be messy or should we say "planned" messy. Thanks for looking, I may give this another try.

My mom was over hanging with me while I was stamping, and she put together the Banana with the CC09 colors. I thought it was great with Ruby Red and the Sage.
I am in the midst of a move, and I haven't been able to keep up with leaving comments on all the challenge cards posted this week....they have all been fabulous!
