WOOP WOOP, I am so excited about this card!! I dusted off two stamp sets that haven't seen the light in years, AND I did a technique I have never done before to make the words scratched in the sand. I was inspired by a photo I saw on Google where someone had written words in the sand, and I thought, "I can do that on a card!!" For the towel, I used a bit of sticky-back canvas, sponged with Daffodil and then stamped with Melon Mambo using the Batik stamp set. For the words, I lightly wrote them in pencil first and then scratched them into the "sand" using my paper piercer. I made sure to scratch all the way through the Crumb Cake cardstock to the other side, and I backed it with Early Espresso so that the dark brown cardstock would show through the letters just a little. I used a clean eyeshadow applicator to rub some Soft Suede ink over the letters so they would look darker, like the wet sand underneath the surface. On each layer of the "water," I sponged some white craft ink to mimic the seafoam. And aren't those flip flop stickers just darling?! This was SUCH a fun card to make!! What a lovely beach scene! This is so full of interesting features from the great flip flop sandals, the sand writing, the beach towel all the way to the lapping water. Wonderful look!
