I'm way behind in challenges since I'm trying to finish off our home school school year, so I'm combining a couple here. I saw this pretty card on Pinterest and thought the frame would work great in this week's sketch. I used a music note and bird as well. I made my frame out of cardboard covered in the Washi tape. I used sticky strip on the back side to seal down my Washi edges (I cut my frame 3/8" and wish I'd made it just a tad smaller to give me more Washi overlap). I added the pleated ribbon inside my frame as well. I crumpled and distressed and sponged my back and horizontal dp panels. I added another piece of the pleated ribbon and a knot of stitched ribbon. I used some tiny punched banner pieces on a linen thread for my sentiment. I wheeled some faint Sahara music notes on these and sponged them as well. Hand wrote my sentiment. I popped my frame and a couple of the banner pieces and used glue dots to hole the thread in place.
This one is going to my cousin's wife who went in for a routine back surgery and came out a paraplegic. I was thinking about her and praying for her this morning and the thought that she would have to learn a whole new way of life translated into "Sing a New Song" in my mind. I'll add some more from Psalm 33 when I write inside. Step by step photos of the frame on my blog.

Oh, Gail, what a beautiful card, especially with your lovely frame using the washi tape. I just love this little bird and the wonderful pennant with the sentiment! What a difficult situation indeed for your cousin's wife, and I am praying that God will draw near to her and give her strength as she truly learn to sing a new song - and be reminded of His steadfast love! What a precious Psalm. And bless you for being an encouragement to her! Hugs!

Beautiful pleated ribbon work, and the sentiment banner is sweet and clever. An overall beautiful card that is sure to convey your heartfelt thoughts to your cousin's wife.
