This is for last week's watercolor challenge. I almost got it done on time. Sigh. I have a friend who was in the hospital for a few days and is home recovering. So, I knew I wanted to make this for her. She always spreads sunshine into others' lives.
This was my second attempt at this. My first try I used TH watercolor paper. It worked pretty decently, but I didn't do a good job keeping my yellow pure. It got kinda green from the turquoise. So, I was a little more careful this time and I used Arches, too. I had a hard time with the clouds and the sun, but I wasn't using fancy watercolors. Pretty happy with this.

Beautiful! It will definitely bring a smile and some sunshine into your friend's day! It was hard to keep the colors from blending. I ended up with some greens and muddy looking areas on my first 2 attempts. Glad you gave it another go!

It's so serene and beautiful, Michelle. Your friend is sure to love it. I had a hard time with my sun, too. But, I see yours perfectly and the reflections are great. Your water looks as if it is moving...just as it should.

Beautiful painted scene, Michelle. Lovely way your reflection bounces off the water. Thanks for the detailed process. Glad you joined the challenge, and you are never late. Love to see you more. TFs Fav'd
