Seeing Sandie and Sue's great results from the chalk marbling I proposed yesterday, I gave it a go this morning. I don't know what has changed from the last time I did it - same chalks, that's for sure. This time I ended up with a lot of white and a small amount of marbling. Back upstairs to get some watercolour paper and some glossy card as Sue used, and try again. Still no lovely marbled effect - I only got this by dunking the paper right under the water. Anyway, it counts as a good background for mixed media. I added some chunky white EP, which I then flattened because the card was so warped I had to put it through the big shot. Wreath cut from green card. The blooms were in a Petri dish on my desk, I coloured and cut a whole bunch of them last week. Added the sentiment, a doodled border and some Liquid Pearls.

Your background may have not turned out how you would have liked or imagined but I think it is perfect. It has interest and design without overwhelming these beautifully colored flowers. Well done.

Your bgs are always a wonder, Sabrina, love this one with the chalked marbling, stamping and EP! Beautiful flowers on the wreath and wonderful doodling! A fabulous birthday card!
